Ainis Kasperavičius, Violas

Born in Vilnius, Lithuania, and studied at the Folkwang University for Arts, Essen, and the HfM Saar, Saarbrücken. His teachers and mentors include Andreas Reiner, Eduard Brunner, Tatevik Mokatsian, Jone Kaliunaite and Enoch zu Guttenberg. He is the winner of numerous competitions in Lithuania, Germany and Spain; the recipient of a Claudia Meyer grant, as well as a grant from the Bruno and Elisabeth Meindl Foundation. Ainis Kasperavičius has taught chamber music and viola at the HfM Saar for eight years.

 

This versatile violist, chamber and orchestral musician is a founding member of the Et Arsis Piano Quartet (2005-2017) and the Bulgarian chamber music festival European Traditions and Young Talents. With the Et Arsis Piano Quartet he made various recordings for numerous radio stations as well as the CDs ‘et arsis, for example’ and ‘in memoriam Eduard Brunner’. In 2018, he founded an international chamber music course in his hometown of Kaunas (Lithuania), and in 2021 the chamber music series ‘A Little Autumn Music’ in Siersburg (Germany).

 

Concert tours with various orchestras and chamber music ensembles have taken him to almost all countries in Europe and the Americas, as well as to China, Russia and South Korea. Concerts at the Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Musikverein, the Teatro Colon Buenos Aires, the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory Hall, the Boston Symphony Hall, and KKL Zurich, and led him to work with conductors such as Enoch zu Guttenberg, Kent Nagano, Paavo Järvi, Roberto Abbado, Helmuth Rilling, as well as with composers Peteris Vasks, Krzysztof Meyer, Theo Brandmüller and Boris Yoffe. His chamber music partners include Önder Baloglu, Tanja Becker-Bender, Eduard Brunner, Rebekka Hartmann, Hans-Peter Hofmann, Tatevik Mokatsian and Andreas Reiner.
